Effectiveness of preventive programs and therapeutic interventions in emotional regulation in adolescents: a systematic reviewContenido principal del artículo
Emotional regulation is fundamental during adolescence, a developmental stage characterized by biological and psychosocial changes that heighten vulnerability to mental health disorders. Consequently, programs designed for prevention or intervention in this area warrant significant attention. The objective of this study was to analyze the current state of scientific production regarding the efficacy of preventive programs and therapeutic interventions for emotional regulation in adolescents. A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, employing a quantitative-descriptive approach across five databases: Scopus, SciELO, Dialnet, Redalyc, and PubMed. The search encompassed the period from 2020 to 2026, resulting in the inclusion of 20 articles. Findings revealed that the United States led in scientific output, and contextual therapies were the predominant approach. In conclusion, both preventive programs and therapeutic interventions demonstrated a reduction in anxious and depressive symptomatology, alongside an increase in the use of adaptive emotional regulation strategies.
